Key West Chicken Recipe
This recipe from the Florida Keys is the best marinade for chicken, and it only takes 30 minutes from prep till you can grill! It's a great blend of flavors with honey, soy sauce, and lime juice.
My husband & I loved the flavors of this dish! The ingredients really blended well together, adding some sweetness to the dish. I marinated the chicken overnight & then placed them in a tin foil-lined pan (with the marinade, and baked in a 350 degree preheated oven for 25 minutes. I served it with steamed white rice, drizzled with the cooked sauce. Next time I will definitely try them grilled!
This is an excellent recipe. I would advise anyone who is making this to taste the marinade before continuing. Everyone has different taste buds. Doesn't mean anything is wrong with the basic recipe. We all like things a little more sweet or sour or do not have recipe ingredients on hand, that's the mark of a good cook, to use what you have and make the recipe yours. I did not have honey so used brown sugar, used less soy sauce, then added more to my taste. This chicken was excellent. Came out very moist and very tasty cooking on the bar be 5 mins on each side. I will definitely use this recipe again, wonderful succulent lime and sweet flavorl.
This is an easy and quick marinade that you are sure to enjoy. Even my very picky husband thought this was delicious and we'll definitely make it again. It went well with grilled potatoes and if anyone knows of another good side dish for this chicken, I would love the suggestion. I marinaded the chicken breasts for a little over 8 hours and after grilling them, they were so tender and had wonderful flavor. Excellent recipe!
eh, not that great . needs way more flavor..
When I bought a bottle of Key Lime juice on vacation in Florida, I wondered what I would do with it... Now this recipe is a staple in our kitchen! I hope you enjoy it too! The longer you marinate, the better the sweet-sour combo gets!
